Serie A Live Streaming: AS Roma v Juventus – Will Bianconeri Seal Record Sixth Title?

The pick of Sunday’s European football comes from Rome as the top two in Italy collide in what could be a game that decides the title race. It’s Luciano Spalletti v Max Allegri, Rome against Turin, Roma V Juventus, and it should be an absolute cracker.

Sunday’s showdown in the capital starts at 7:45PM UK time, and you can watch the drama unfold live. Why not have a punt on the outcome too?

Will Totti Get A Run Out?

Spalletti came under immense scrutiny last weekend after ignoring the crowd’s pleads for a late Francesco Totti introduction at the San Siro, but the manager won’t be too bothered as his side did pick up a massive 4-1 victory. Still, with the club legend set to retire at the end of the season, many will feel that he deserves some minutes against the current champions.

In truth, though, Roma’s best attacking threat will come from Edin Dzeko, who is currently the league’s top scorer and bagged a screamer last weekend. With the likes of Mohamed Salah, Radja Nainggolan, and Stephan El Shaarawy in the supporting cast, the hosts can be quietly optimistic.

After all, they’ve scored an incredible 44 times in 17 home games this term, registering 14 wins in the process. On the other hand, a loss to Lazio in the derby just two weeks ago will have knocked their confidence slightly, particularly against such strong opposition.

The pressure is on too, especially as they must win to keep their title bid alive. They did win last year’s corresponding clash, though, so can at least be optimistic, especially as Juve have already played three huge matches within the last two weeks.

History Beckons For The Old Lady

It seems a lifetime ago that Juventus were caught up in the Calciopoli scandal, but winning the title on Sunday would complete an incredible return to the top by securing a record-breaking sixth Scudetti on the spin. Quite frankly, what better way to secure than by beating their toughest rival of the last few years?

Juve have already had a great week, securing their place in the Champions League final by seeing off Monaco on Tuesday. The treble is still on the cards for Gianluigi Buggon, Dani Alves, and co. Avoiding defeat here would secure the first of those three trophies.

The visitors have suffered four defeats on the road while they also lost their 100% home record in last weekend’s clash with Torino. However, Gonzalo Higuain’s late leveller means that they still have a fantastic shot at wrapping things up in the capital. With Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic offering fantastic services too, it could be a big night for the Bianconeri.

Will history be made or can Roma keep up the pressure? One way or the other, it should be an absolute cracker.

AS Roma V Juventus Betting

With home advantage on their side, Roma have been established as the slight favourites at odds of 6/4 at 888sport. Juventus are priced 15/8 to grab the win while a title-winning draw can be backed at 12/5.

Picking up a win at the Stadio Olimpico is never easy, especially when Roma are the home side. Nonetheless, it’s hard to overlook Juve’s incredible team or the unbeaten league record that stretches back to the middle of January.

Given that a draw would be enough for the visitors to secure the title, we cannot have immense confidence in backing them to win outright. But when throwing the potential refund of a draw into the mix, the Old Lady are well worth backing at just over evens.

Whether the champions seal a positive result or not, they will be fully expected to score. Once again, it’s Higuain who will be the most likely threat to Roma’s defence.

The Argentine isn’t the most frequent scorer on the pitch as Roma’s Dzeko boasts 27 to sit top of Serie A’s scoring chart. Nonetheless, a return of 24 goals in great going for Higuain, and we’re backing him to get his 25th here.
