Scottish Football Tips Saturday 14th September By Raymond

ScotlandScottish Football Bets – 14 September

A mixed bag for us last time out but the good news was both our 2 point bets won ensuring a decent profit of 2.56 points on the day. Inverness and Stirling did the business for us while Brechin and Ayr came up short. I have to apologize for the Brechin selection as it’s a bet I would never have advised had I known opponents Arbroath were fielding two loan signings from the premier league one of which scored the two goals which won the game for Arbroath.

A tricky weekend in store but hopefully we can continue the good start to the season after the international break. Celtic (hcap), Motherwell, Alloa and Hamilton dnb were all on my radar but for one reason or another have been passed over.

SPL

Inverness CT to beat Kilmarnock – 11/10, 1pt Bet365

Everyone should know how much I rate this ICT team at present so I won’t bore you with the details again. Everything points to Inverness continuing their brillaint start to the season with another win this time over a struggling Killie side without a win thus far and who have just lost leading striker Paul Heffernan.

Dundee Utd Draw No Bet to beat Ross County – 5/4, 1pt Bet365

I can’t fathom how the bookmakers have County as favourites here. This is a team with one sole victory this season and that against a hapless St Mirren side. The staggies too have been humbled in the league cup by league one club Stranraer in addition to a 3-1 defeat by SPL newcomers Partick. United have the better players especially going forward where the likes of Armstrong, Goodwillie and Mackay-Steven can do plenty damage on the counter attack in away fixtures such as this one. The arabs have drawn both their away matches but following a big 4-0 win over St Johnstone (County lost 4-0 to the same opponents) and an unlucky late loss to Celtic I feel they can continue to improve and move up the table.

League 1

Rangers (-1 hcap) to beat Arbroath – 2/5 Bet365

League 2

Peterhead to beat Queens Park – 4/9, 2pt double Bet365

Rangers are destroying all before them in league one with four straight wins and a 18-1 goals for and against record. New signings have made a difference to the gers this season and I don’t see Arbroath coming close to them in this one. Indeed I wouldn’t put anyone off backing the Ibrox men with a -2.5 handicap on a single bet.

Peterhead are a talented but inconsistent team who on their day can be a match for anyone in the lower leagues however the key here is the continuing opposing of opponents Queens Park who have endured a nightmare start to the season. Six straight losses for the spiders has seen a 2-20 goals for and against record and until they bring new players to the club I don’t see their fortunes changing in the coming weeks.

Happy punting this weekend.
