Lower League Football Tips Tuesday 20th Nov: Orient Can Out Play Pompey

The Football LeagueWho needs the champions league when there’s a host of lower league action available I ask you?

I’m going for another lower league treble here with the hope of picking up a win after Port Vale (my own team) threw away a 2 goal lead at home to York at the weekend to scupper our celebrations!

Fleetwood Town vs Accrington Stanley

Fleetwood are going from strength to strength this season. Currently sitting 5th in the table they are undefeated in their last 6 games.

Accrington on the other hand had a great start to the season but have been struggling as of late. They’ve picked up only 1 win in their last 8 games and sit 17th in the league.

This is the first meeting between the two teams so no H2H history to go off but I strongly fancy a home win.

BET: Fleetwood win @ 8/11

Portsmouth vs Leyton Orient

Portsmouth’s demise continues as they slip further and further down the table and today I’m hoping Leyton Orient can pile on more misery.

Portsmouth haven’t picked up a single point in their last 5 league games and have also lost their last 3 home games without even scoring a goal.

Leyton Orient have started to pick up recently and a decent 4-1 away win against Carlisle at the weekend proves that their revival is well and truly underway.

Only 5 places seperate the two teams so I will be slightly cautious with the bet though, unless of course you fancy a risk.

BET: For the risky folk: Leyton Orient Win @ 21/10
BET: For the non-risky folk: Leyton Orient (Draw No Bet) @ 6/5

Hartlepool vs Oldham
How anyone can back Hartlepool these days amazes me. And how the bookies continue to offer attractive odds on their opposition amazes me.

Hartlepool sit bottom of the league with just 8 points from 8 games! They’ve lost their last 3 games by an aggregate of 8-0 and that’s not including the 6-1 smashing they had from league 2 chesterfield in the FA cup. Fair enough, 6 of their 8 points have been picked up at home but this is still too much to ignore.

Oldham haven’t exactly been in the best of form either and they sit in the final relegation spot. 11 of their 17 points this season have been picked up on the road and I fancy them to at least get a point off struggling Hartlepool who’s confidence will be at an all time low after the 5-0 pounding from Coventry at the weekend. I think there is a high possibility of this game ending in a draw, but Oldham might just edge it. Depending on which you fancy, here are two options.

BET: For the risky folk – DRAW @ 23/10
BET: For the non-risky folk – Oldham (Draw No Bet) @ 8/11
