Both Teams To Score Tips Saturday 20th December – Championship Showdown To Provide Plenty Of Action

This Saturday is a hugely significant moment in the Football League calendar as teams bid to gain momentum for the awaiting hectic schedule and that should lend to some cracking fixtures across the country.

We’re looking to capitalise on that with this BTTS treble, which pays out at odds of just under 5/1. All we need is six teams to score and we’re laughing.

Ipswich Town V Middlesbrough

One of the weekend’s most eagerly anticipated contests comes from Portman Road as fourth-placed Ipswich take on a Middlesbrough side currently sitting joint top in the Championship standings. It’s a case of great attacks versus equally successful defences; on this occasion, we’re backing the forward players to have the greater impact.

Between them, these promotion rivals have netted 67 goals from 42 matches and both enter this clash in great scoring form. The visitors boast nine goals in their last three away games alone, whilst Ipswich have found the net in each of their past seven home fixtures.

Whilst Mick McCarthy’s men are scoring a lot of goals at home, they do also tend to concede and that will give Middlesbrough an extra lift. The fact last year’s corresponding fixture also ended in a BTTS winner also inspires confidence for this selection.

With a combined total of just 35 goals conceded, some punters may be put off. However, the momentum is strong in both camps and that should lend to a cracking contest.

Bradford City V Scunthorpe United

Our second selection comes from League One as Scunthorpe United look to follow up their dramatic FA Cup shootout win at Worcester by climbing further away from the relegation zone with three points at Valley Parade.

The Iron are improving and Mark Robins men have now found the target in seven successive league and cup matches. However, it is worth noting that they’ve kept a clean sheet in just one of those encounters and the physical drain of Wednesday’s battle with Worcester means that Bradford will definitely be fancied to score.

However, the Bantams haven’t kept a clean sheet in five home games. Each of the last four were BTTS winners and there is no reason to think the goals will dry up at either end on Saturday. Phil Parkinson’s men boast 13 home goals but have also conceded 15 from just 10 fixtures, meanwhile Scunthorpe’s away record reads 16 for and 19 against.

Goals have been a common feature for both clubs. Expect that theme to be carried into Saturday’s showdown.

Braintree Town V Torquay United

The Amlin Stadium hasn’t been the most entertaining of venues in the Conference this season, btu we’re anticipating an action packed contest as the Brains face Torquay United.

You have to go way back to September to find the last league game that saw both teams on the scoresheet here, but Alan Devonshire’s men have scored 12 in 12 home games and will be expecting to find the target once again here. However, there is a strong possibility that one goal alone won’t be enough to secure the victory.

Chris Hargreaves’ men are currently sixth in the table and could move into the play-offs with a win, so the incentive is huge for the visitors to perform. They’ve netted 20 times in a dozen away games and Ryan Bowman will be particularly eager to increase his personal tally of 10 league goals this term,

However, the Seagulls have also shipped 21 times on the road and that will give Braintree plenty of confidence. There should be chances at either end, let’s hope they get converted.
