Both Teams To Score Tips Saturday 14th February – Goals To Flow In Cup Clash At Ewood Park

Love will be in the air this weekend but not only because it’s Valentine’s Day. It is also FA Cup weekend!

We’ve combined one tip from Saturday’s cup schedule with two from the Football League offering to produce this 9/2 treble at Ladbrokes. Fingers crossed, the bookies won’t be loving us come 5PM.

Game on!

Blackburn Rovers V Stoke City

A phenomenal fourth round schedule proved that the magic of football’s longest-running cup competition is still alive and kicking and we’re anticipating another thrilling contest as Championship side Blackburn host Stoke City in round five.

The Ewood Park club have been very interesting to watch this season and the attacking pair of Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede will prove a threat to their Premier League visitors. The deadly duo boast 24 competitive goals between them this term and will be in buoyant mood after combining for Tueday’s late league winner against Rotherham.

Mark Hughes has worked wonders at the Britannia during his 18 months in charge, transforming the Potters into a far more attractive outfit. However, they have had to sacrifice some of their defensive stability in that pursuit for attacking prowess, which is perfect for this bet selection.

Stoke will fancy their chances of qualifying but must beware Blackburn’s potent attack and would likely settle for a home replay. It should be a thrilling spectacle for the neutral and a score draw wouldn’t surprise us at all.

Norwich City V Wolverhampton Wanderers

The headline clash from this weekend’s Championship action surely has to come from Carrow Road as Norwich face Wolves in a crucial battle in the race for play-off places. We’re backing the two former Premier League sides to live up to the billing by producing a passionate Valentine’s Day affair.

Both clubs are sitting just outside the top six right now, occupying seventh and eight respectively, and that should make for an intense atmosphere at Carrow Road. In addition to that need for points, though, these sides are equally fond of goals.

Norwich have hit 36 home goals this term, but have also conceded 18 from their 15 matches. Meanwhile, Kenny Jackett’s men have netted 20 on the road but will be disappointed at shipping 23 from their 15 away outings.

Both teams were involved in BTTS winners on Tuesday, whilst Wolves have been involved in three consecutive matches in which they’ve scored and conceded. Expect that theme of goals to continue in this crucial Saturday showdown.

Gillingham V MK Dons

League One Gillingham have enjoyed a real upturn in fortunes since getting rid of Peter Taylor and that continued on Tuesday night as Justin Edinburgh won his first game in charge against Peterborough.

Whilst the Gills will undoubtedly be in great form, they should expect a tough test against Karl Robinson’s men on Saturday. The Dons dropped out of the automatic promotion spots thanks to their midweek loss to Bradford and that could make the visitors a particularly dangerous proposition at Priestfield.

Despite losing on Tuesday, MK Dons did at least score for an eight consecutive away match. That took their overall tally on the road to 24 and we simply cannot see them failing to find the target against a side they beat 4-2 on the opening day of 2014/15.

Gillingham boast a sense of renewed hope, which should see them find the target, but we’d still lean towards an away win. In our opinion, the safest option is backing both teams to score.
