Rangers have had a season to forget, but can end the season on a high if they manage to beat St. Johnstone at McDiarmid Park on Sunday Lunchtime. The most successful Scottich club in history were hit with a 10 point deduction after going into liquidation, but their problems started long before then.
It’s hard to believe that Gers’ were 15 points clear at the top of the league last November, only for their form to take a nosedive. They were overtaken by Celtic back in February, and things have gone downhill since then.
Opponents St. Johnstone will consider this season a successful one. Sitting in 6th position in the league, they have proved themselves to be battlers, although their recent form is rather worrying.
Four consecutive losses and only 1 point from their last 6 games is a worrying trend, and Rangers will be looking to inflict another beating on them here.
St. Johnstone 16/5
Rangers have already beaten The Saint’s twice at McDiarmid Park this season, but Nikica Jelavic, who netted on three occasions against St.Johnstone is now plying his trade at Everton, after a January transfer window move.
It’s been a long and hard season for Rangers, and most certainly one that players and fans just want to forget. Financial problems still loom large for the Glasgow club, and the future is still unclear.
However, the Blue half of Glasgow will be as vocal as ever, and Rangers should be able to please their loyal supporters with 3 points on the final day of the season.
