Over 2.5 Match Goals Tips Saturday 20th February – Goals To Flow At Brunton Park

Everybody loves a game of goals, but it matters more when there’s money on it. We’re hopeful that the magic of this weekend’s FA Cup action will rub off on the league matches to give us plenty of goals across the Football League and Conference.

We’ve picked three games to have a minimum of three goals each. It doesn’t matter which teams score them. As long as we get over 2.5 match goals in all three selections, we’ll be celebrating a tasty 6/1 winner.

Good luck!

Walsall V Wigan Athletic

In League One, the game of the day comes from the Bescot as promotion rivals Walsall and Wigan do battle in what should be a cracking a game. Both teams have scored plenty of goals this term, and we’re hopeful this will lead to a dramatic clash here.

The sides cancelled each other out in the reverse clash, but both teams will be out for a crucial win as they look to fire a warning to their promotion rivals. Walsall boast 20 goals in just 15 home games while Wigan have scored 23 on the road.

Moreover, both defences are used to conceding. With the likes of Will Grigg, Michael Jacobs, and Tom Bradshaw on the pitch, there’s every reason to get excited about this clash.

This is arguably the Football League’s most important game of the day. We’re backing the sides to provide a contest that lives up to the billing. We wouldn’t want to back a winner, but we do think there will be at least three goals scored.

Carlisle United V Stevenage

Darren Sarll has enjoyed a decent start to life at the Lamex since replacing Teddy Sheringham and his Stevenage side will be bidding for a third straight win as they head to Brunton Park this weekend. However, they should expect a tough test against the Cumbrians.

Despite not even playing all their home games on their own patch, Keith Curle’s men boast 27 goals from 14 official home matches. They should be fancied to score against a defence that’s leaked 30 away goals, even if star man Jabo Ibhere is suspended following Tuesday’s dismissal at Accrington.

Carlisle have shipped 20 home goals and boast just one win in six league encounters. This should give confidence to the visitors as they look to improve their return of 23 goals in 16 away games. Boro do share the goals around too, so they’ve plenty of potential scorers.

The stats certainly suggest that it will be a game of goals. And that’s exactly where we’re putting our money.

Forest Green Rovers V Eastleigh

Adrian Pennock’s boast an incredible record at the New Lawn this season, registering 14 wins from 17 league matches, and will be eager to register another three points to keep the pressure up on Conference leaders Cheltenham. However, they shouldn’t expect to things all their own way against a spirited Eastleigh.

The hosts certainly have enough firepower to clinch the win and will be eager to increase their tally of 34 home goals. The strikeforce Jon Parkin and Kurtis Guthrie should give them a fantastic opportunity against an away defence that’s shipped 24 on the road.

Eastleigh do boast 29 goals from their 17 away games, losing just five times in the process. They have lost their last three league matches, but they all ended with at least three goals, which is great news for this selection.

Five goals were scored when the sides met back in October, a similar story on Saturday would suit us just fine.
