The last week hasn’t been as controversial as the week before, various rumours have been flying around regarding transfers which is expected. The best story of the week for me is regarding Schalke’s young starlet Julian Draxler. The youngster was being mentioned a lot as Mario Gotze’s replacement at Dortmund, after Die Schwarzgelben club announced their interest.

English football may be all but done with for another dramatic season, but while we’re waiting for the playoffs to get underway and the Premiership to reach it’s climax, there’s plenty of football to go around in Europe to keep us occupied and many of these are perfect for a Saturday afternoon of Goals Galore!

There’s no getting away from it last week was a disappointing no show from the main bets. Some consolation came in the form of the two mentions Ross County and Peterhead who both landed winning bets to keep the winning run going with the supporting mentions.

The Betfred Victoria Cup is undoubtedly one of the most competitive handicaps of the season and this Saturday’s renewal at Ascot is no different, with most bookmakers going 10/1 the field at the time of writing.

It’s hard to be dogmatic with regard to the effect of the draw on the straight course at the Berkshire venue, though based on last season’s evidence it appears that a low berth is ideal when the ground is on the soft side, while being drawn high is a help on quicker going.
