Both Teams To Score Tips Sat 7th December – Saints Can Net Against Red Hot City

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE COUPON – 7th December

It’s FA Cup weekend so we could be in for a feast of goals as team’s fight it out for a place in the third round draw. Additionally there are games in the Premiership and non-league pyramid as well as the odd game in League’s 1 & 2.

Here are three games we think will keep us entertained with goals at both ends.

SOUTHAMPTON V MANCHESTER CITY
BTTS YES – 4/6 with Paddy Power

At St Mary’s, the Saints will look to put an end to their run of three straight defeats as they take on title-chasing Manchester City.

Southampton have suffered a dip in form recently but are still playing some attractive football. Meanwhile City have been lethal in front of goal and, whilst goalkeeping issues have been compelled by defensive injuries, their return of 40 goals is by far the best in the league.

Both teams have scored in 9 of their last 10 matches and there is nothing to suggest that either will struggle to find the net on Saturday. Saints might have the tightest defence in the division but they’ve conceded in each of their last five; City always look vulnerable away from home.

SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY V NOTTINGHAM FOREST
BTTS YES – 4/6 with Paddy Power.

Fresh from a spectacular win over table-topping Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday will head into Saturday’s clash with Forest full of confidence as they attempt to pull themselves off the bottom of the Championship table.

The Owls could have named a new manager by kick-off but it is unlikely that Dave Jones’ replacement will take charge of this weekend’s encounter. Nonetheless, the players responded well during midweek and will be hopeful against a Forest team currently suffering a very inconsistent run of form.

Despite their poor run, Billy Davies’ side are scoring goals. Twenty-eight in eighteen games signals a very respectable turn and includes a current sequence of four consecutive games in which they’ve scored. The problems have come in the defensive third, which is another good omen in terms of a BTTS bet.

I think this one could go anyway but expect both teams to create chances.

CHESTERFIELD V SOUTHEND (FA CUP)
BTTS YES – 4/6 with Paddy Power

Two of League 2’s promotion chasers do battle in the FA Cup as Phil Brown’s Southend travel to Chesterfield.

These two met in the league back in August, where Chesterfield won 2-1thanks to a 96th minute winner, and there is no reason to think both teams can’t find the net again here.

Southend are on a great run of four wins and a draw in the league and will look to transfer that form into the cup. The Blues have some great cup memories in recent years – three Football League Trophy finals; a draw at Stamford Bridge; victory over Manchester United – and will want to secure their place in the third round draw. They’ve scored in every away game this term and will be confident in extending that on Saturday.

Chesterfield are above Southend in the league on goal difference and as well as beating the Essex team in August have additionally scored in 5 of their last 6 home matches with a 0-0 draw against Northampton being their only blank.

With it being a cup game, if a team falls behind then they will throw everything into finding an equaliser. It should be an exciting contest.
