Ajax v Celtic LIVE: Bhoys Will Struggle Against Free Scoring Dutch Champions

Kick Off: Saturday 21st July
Live on Premier Sports 6.00pm

AjaxCeltic are looking to kick start their pre season campaign into gear after some disappointing performances, and today’s clash with Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena is sure to be a tough test for Neil Lennon’s men.

Losses against Norwich City and Stuttgart kickers left fans scratching their heads, but with a 2-1 win over German Bundesliga 2 side Aalen on Tuesday The Bhoys now face their toughest test so far.

Dutch Champions Ajax have had an impeccable pre season so far, winning all four games, scoring 21 goals in the process and conceding just 2.

With just 1 domestic loss at the Amsterdam Arena since November 2011, Celtic will certainly be up against it today, and their lack of composure in front of goal in the last couple of games really needs to be adjusted if they plan on getting anything form this game.

Bet365 go as big as 4/1 about Celtic winning this match, and while some punters may consider that a great price, I won’t be investing anything in them until they show a bit of improvement.

Ajax on the other hand are showing that they are not lacking in the fitness department with the amount of goals they are scoring, and the 4/6 with Bet365 looks a good bet considering the circumstances.

Although Ajax have struggled at home against the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid recently, Celtic aren’t anywhere near that level, and the Amsterdam Arena being the fortress it is should guide the home side to a routine victory.

Celtic still have friendlies booked against Norwich City and Inter Milan before the start of the 2012/13 Scottish season, and while they should claim yet another SPL title uncontested, due to Rangers now plying their trade in division 3, they haven’t looked the finished article by a long chalk, and should be exposed by an in-form Ajax.
