Friday Night Bundesliga: Watch, Bet & Win As Werder Bremen Head To Hamburg

Friday 22nd April. 7:30PM. Live streaming available at Bet365

With just four rounds of Bundesliga fixtures left to play, Werder Bremen head to Hamburg on Friday night in serious threat of relegation. However, the home side aren’t quite home and dry yet either, making this clash at Volksparkstadion a truly mouth-watering prospect.

The though of either club dropping to the Bundesliga 2 is mind-blowing, but a relegation play-off is avery real possibility for both of them. Playing first does give them a chance to pile the pressure on the other sides fighting for survival, though, and it all makes for an intriguing Friday night showdown.

Best of all, you can watch the drama unfold live thanks to Bet365.

Can Hamburg Virtually Seal Survival?

A return of three points from a possible 15 has dragged Bruno Labbadia’s men into danger, but they still enter this clash sitting three points and four places above the relegation play-off spot. A win against their fellow strugglers here would all but guarantee their place in next season’s Bundesliga, and that’s exactly what the home crowd will be expecting to see.

Unfortunately, though, the home fans have seen their side register just four home wins all season while a return of 18 goals in 15 games is hardly inspired in this division either. However, the likes of Lewis Holtby, Pierre Lasogga and Nicolai Muller can be quietly confident against an away side that’s shipped 33 on the road.

The hosts can also take heart from the fact they secured a point in December’s reverse clash. This is far from being the strongest Hamburg side ever seen but, if it they play to their potential, they will be confident about picking up the points.

However, that is a lot easier said than done.

Bremen Looking To Build On Wolfsburg Win

It’s been a truly tumultuous campaign for Viktor Skripnik’s Bremen, but last week’s shock win over Wolfsburg underlined the fact that they should be too good to go down. In truth, they’d be fully expected to win the relegation play-off anyway. Even so, they’ll be eager to climb away from danger during the final weeks, starting with a big win here.

Quite simply, Werder’s best hope is to attack. The firepower of Anthony Ujah and the experienced Claudio Pizarro has bagged 22 league goals alone whilst the visitors boast 22 away goals in total too.

There are certainly weaknesses in this side, but the team is more than capable of recording a crucial win. Time is running out, though, and their star men will need to turn up.

Whatever happens, you can expect to see a thrilling contest from two of Germany’s most recognisable clubs. In addition to watching the action live, we’ll be looking to land some Friday night profit too.

Hamburg v Werder Bremen Betting

With home advantage on their side, Hamburg have been established as the bookmaker’s favourites. However, odds of 7/5 at Bet365 highlight the feeling that this won’t be an easy win for Labbadia’s men. Werder Bremen are available at 9/5 for an upset while the draw may appeal at odds of 13/5.

From a spectator’s perspective, we hope it’s an attacking match. More importantly, from a gambler’s perspective, we’re quite confident that it will be. Both teams know that a win would be massive. Meanwhile, Bremen are particularly more likely to gain joy in the attacking third rather than defensive.

With this in mind, along with the respective low defensive confidence, we’re backing both teams to score. However, we can’t see it being a 1-1 draw like it was back at Weserstadion, which is why we’ve picked over 2.5 goals too.

Points are crucial for both sides, but there’s no question that the bigger need is with the visitors. We do think that they’ll attack, and wouldn’t be surprised if their attacking stars find the target more than once.

We can’t be confident in their defence, which is why we can’t back Bremen to win. Instead, we’re going for a 5/2 punt on them to score both sides of the interval.
