The BTTS Coupon – 24th May

The European football season is pretty much over and preparations for the FIFA World Cup are now in full swing.

However, there are still a number of matches taking place on Saturday and we think these three games all stand a great chance of goals.
Good luck!

Stromsgodset V Rosenborg. Norwegian Tippeligaen

Two of Norway’s biggest clubs collide on Saturday as the defending champs host Rosenborg at the Marienlyst Stadion.

Stromsgodset may have suffered defeat at Stabaek on Tuesday, but their goal in that game does mean that they’ve been involved in three BTTS winners on the spin. Ronny Deila’s men have additionally found the target in each of their five home matches so far and will be desperate to make that six as they attempt to close the gap on league leaders Molde.

A return of 14 goals in those five games provides huge optimism for this selection.

Meanwhile, Rosenborg are languishing in seventh after the first 10 matches. However, the visitors have found the net eight times in five away outings and remain unbeaten on the road. Uncharacteristically, it is the Troll Kids home form that has let them down thus far.

Both teams tend to score a lot of goals and each will be highly motivated to perform well in this fixture. It could be a thriller.

Falkenberg V Hacken. Swedish Allsvenskan

Over in Sweden’s top division, third-placed Hacken will look to pile the pressure on Malmo and Elfsborg as they head to an improving Falkenberg. However, after back-to-back wins, the hosts will be equally optimistic of claiming a vital three points.

Hacken are in strong form, scoring 23 times on route to 20 points from the first 10 matches. However, Peter Gerhardsson’s men have also shipped 14 times in that period and their defensive issues must be addressed if they are going to mount a serious challenge for the title.

That could prove difficult against a Falkenberg side who are unbeaten in four and have won each of their last two outings. The hosts have recovered well from a poor start and scored three at Norrkoping last Thursday.

Perhaps more impressively, though, Henrik Larsson’s side have kept three straight clean sheets. However, they’ll need to be at their very best to extend that sequence here.

Four of Hacken’s last five encounters have ended in BTTS winners. Expect a similar story on Saturday.

Atvidaberg V Halmstads. Swedish Allsvenskan

Staying in Sweden and Atvidaberg host Halmstads in a match that should be full of goals.

Both teams are scoring and conceding at quite a quick rate. After just 10 games, the hosts have scored 13 and conceded 16. Meanwhile, Halmstads have shipped 20 while registering 11 of their own. Neither team are shy of goals at either end of the pitch.

Recent head-to-head fixtures may not have seen much goal mouth action, but that trend could be set to end at Kopparvalen. Both defences are relatively poor and the opposing attackers will be looking to take advantage.

This is a vital meeting for both clubs and both will be out for the three points. Goals will be the aim of the day and that would suit us just fine.
