Both Teams To Score Tips Thursday January 1st – Back Goals At St Mary’s

It’s a New Year and we’re aiming to start it in style by landing this 7/2 BTTS treble on January 1stat BetVictor.

Thursday’s schedule includes games from the Premier League and Non-League pyramid and we’re hoping that these six teams will all find the target to get our 2015 up and running with a winner.

Let’s hope 2015 is a year of immense bookie bashing!

Southampton V Arsenal

Arsene Wenger’s men have seemingly turned a corner in recent weeks and can underline that feeling by climbing into the top four with victory at St Mary’s. However, the Gunners should be prepared for an intense battle against high-flying Southampton.

Since beating the Saints 1-0 at the Emirates, Arsenal have hit at least two goals in each of their subsequent five Premier League outings and it would be a surprise to see the goals dry up on New Year’s Day. However, Ronald Koeman’s side will pose a much stronger threat on home soil and will be equally confident about finding the target.

The Saints have netted 22 times in 10 home games and will be quite pleased with Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea. They’ll know that Arsenal’s defensive shortcomings are still there to be exploited and the likes of Graziano Pelle and Shane Long will be eager to see the New Year in with a goal.

This is the standout fixture from Thursday’s three o’clock games and we’re anticipating a fiercely fought affair. Back both teams to score.

Kidderminster Harriers V Forest Green Rovers

Conference rivals Kidderminster edged a five-goal thriller against Forest Green Rovers on Boxing Day and we’re predicting another fascinating affair as the rival play-off hopefuls meet for the second time in a week.

Gary Whild’s men will be extremely confident at Aggborough but could be vulnerable after Sunday’s loss to Southport. Nevertheless, the chance to climb into the play-off places will serve as a huge incentive for the Harriers and we’d fully expect them to score. However, they’ve not kept a clean sheet in seven so the hosts may need their attackers to be firing on all cylinders in order to get the win.

Meanwhile, Forest Green have scored 10 goals in their past five games alone so will fancy their chances of more here. However, they’ve conceded 14 in 13 away games this season as well as those three in last Friday’s defeat at New Lawn so will probably need more than one to claim any points from this showdown.

This one could go either way but we would anticipate goals regardless of the outcome. Back both teams to score.

Woking FC v Eastleigh

Woking and Easteigh shared a 2-2 draw at the Silverlake Stadium last Friday and both sides will be out for goals in Thursday’s reverse meeting. There should be plenty of action in this crucial Conference fixture.

The visitors leapfrogged Woking into the play-off zone on Sunday and will be eager to score a crucial away win at Kingfield. Richard Hill’s side have scored nine goals in their past two away games alone and will be extremely confident against a home side that has struggled in recent weeks. However, Eastleigh have also shipped 23 goals in 13 away games this season and will be under pressure against the Cards.

Woking’s form has been pretty poor but they continue to find the net. The attacking trip of Guiseppe Sole, Dean Morgan and Scott Rendall have notched a combined total of 32 goals this season and the hosts will also seek confidence from the recent FA Trophy win over their New Year’s Day opponents.

However, Woking do tend to concede goals and their last five Conference fixtures have all ended in BTTS winners. That sequence should be extended against their promotion rivals.
