The Both Teams To Score Coupon – Easter Monday 21st April

The Easter weekend has provided lots of action across the Football League, and fans will be expecting more goals from Monday’s schedule.
Every point is crucial at this stage and teams will have to attack as they aim to secure their seasonal aims. Passions will be high, and here are three games we feel will be full of action.

Good luck.

Millwall V Doncaster Rovers

At the New Den, Ian Holloway’s Millwall are looking for a fourth win in five – a result which would probably guarantee their Championship next season – against a Doncaster rovers side who have now lost four on the spin.

After a truly difficult campaign, the Lions have roared to 11 points from an available 15 to climb out of the relegation zone and towards safety. Perhaps more pleasing,at least for this BTTS selection , is the fact the Londoners have now scored in seven straight Championship encounters.

In fact, Millwall have scored 12 times in that period, including two in each of their last three at home. Meanwhile, one clean sheet in that period also provides reason to believe this match will be full of action – as does the reward to the winner.

Doncaster did look safe, but those four consecutive defeats means that Paul Dickov’s side still have some work to do in order to secure their place in the division next term.Despite their poor form, the Rovers have at least found the target in five of their last seven and will be confident of doing so once more against the league’s worst defence.

Tranmere Rovers V Sheffield United

In League One, Tranmere Rovers will be determined to claim a vital three points in their bid for survival. However, the Prenton Park club could be in for a long afternoon against Sheffield United.

Rovers, who are currently without a manager, sit just two points above the drop zone and have worryingly played one game more than Carlisle – who sit 21st. On a more positive note, though, the Super White Army have scored in all but one of their previous 14 encounters at home.

However, Tranmere may need to score several times to take anything from this meeting with Sheffield United. The much improved Blades moved up to ninth in the table with their Good Friday victory over Stevenage and will consider themselves rather unlucky to miss out on the play-offs.

The Blades have scored in five of their last six League One matches, as well as hitting three in their FA Cup semi-final against Hull. Sheffield United won the reverse fixture 3-1 at Bramall Lane, a similar scoreline could be on the cards here.

Northampton Town V Portsmouth

In League Two, Torquay United are destined for relegation. However, Northampton Town still harbour hopes of survival and can give themselves a huge boost with a positive result against Portsmouth.

The Cobblers have picked up seven points from their last three games to give themselves renewed hope of beating the drop and will be confident of climbing out of the relegation zone before next month’s climax.

However, the encounter with Pompey will not be easy. Under interim manager Andy Awford, Portsmouth have seen drastic improvements and are now up to 15th in the table thanks to a run of four straight league wins.

Nevertheless, Portsmouth have conceded 37 goals in 21 away matches – conceding 12 in their last four outings on the road. Meanwhile, Northampton have shipped 30 at home so neither defence will be full of confidence.

Portsmouth are in great form, but it’s Northampton who hold the greater desire for three points. Hopefully that will be a recipe for both teams to score.
