Schalke v AC Milan LIVE : Home Side May Strip Fitter In Friendly Clash
Kick Off: Tuesday 24th July
Live on ESPN 6.00pm
Last season’s Serie A runners up AC Milan travel to Germany and more specifically the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen to square up against Schalke in their first pre-season game of the summer, in what should be an interesting clash to watch live on ESPN on Tuesday evening.
Hosts Schalke finished 3rd in the German Bundesliga last term, although they won’t be particularly happy with the 17 point deficit between them and champions Borussia Dortmund, with Bayern Munich sandwiched between them.

While this is just a friendly match, Schalke could well be a good value bet here. While Milan are yet to start their preparations for the new season, Schalke already have 3 friendlies under their belt, which could well be the difference between the two teams here.
Recent news has been dominated by the transfers of Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Milan to Paris Saint Germain, and while these departures generated a huge amount of transfer funds, Milan are yet to spend them, and look rather lightweight at present.
These two teams last met in the Champions League in 2005, with two stunning games in the group stage that produced 9 goals in total- a 3-2 home win at the San Siro and a 2-2 draw in Germany.
Both teams are very capable of producing goals, but with the extra fitness on Schalke’s side, the 7/4 offered by Sky Bet about the home win looks pretty generous and a small bet should be considered.
The 8/5 odds on offer about a Milan win don’t really appeal. This is their first outing and they are likely to be very rusty.
Either way, the match looks worth a watch, as both are European heavyweights and will be looking to stamp their authority early as a sign to come in the new season.
