With just a week to go before the 2012/12 Dutch Eredivisie season starts, giant PSV and Ajax meet at the Amsterdam Arena to contest the Super Cup.

Ajax scooped the 2011/12 league title comfortably by 6 points; with just 4 losses in total last season they were simply too consistent for their opponents.

PSV challenged for the league for a long time before fading towards the end of the year, but did manage to secure the Dutch Cup by beating Heracles 3-0 in the final back in April.

Ajax will be in a confident frame of mind in this final. As well as it being played on their home ground, their last loss against PSV came in August 2009.

PSV last visited the Amsterdam Arena in March this year for a league fixture; Ajax won the game 2-0 with goals from Aissati and Siem De Jong.

Both teams have been in scintillating pre season form. Neither has lost a game and plenty of goals have been scored.

Ajax are considered favourites to defend their title this season, and are available to back at 5/4 to win the Eredivisie. Unsurprisingly, PSV are only just behind in the betting, a 5/2 chance to win the 2012/13 title.
