Over 2.5 Match Goals Tips Saturday 6th February – Cobblers To Turn Up The Heat

It’s the first weekend of an extremely important month across the English football pyramid and we’re hopeful that Saturday’s action will serve up a feast of goals in our three chosen matches.

That’s because we’ve selected three matches that we believe will have at least three goals each. All neutrals love a game of goals anyway, but the drama is even more satisfying when there’s money on it too. With odds of just under 7/1, this treble would be very pleasing indeed.

Good luck!

Cardiff City V MK Dons

Karl Robinson’s men were battered by Chelsea in last weekend’s FA Cup clash and things might not get any easier as they make the trip to Wales for this crucial Championship fixture. However, the Dons can at least hope to score.

The visitors have scored in each of their last four competitive matches, and can also take heart from their 2-1 Boxing Day home win over Cardiff too. Meanwhile, striker Nicky Maynard will be eager to prove himself against a club that gave him very little chance last season.

While the Dons will try, Cardiff will be fancied to grab the win, regardless of whether they concede. Russell Slade’s side are still very much in with a shout of reaching the play-offs and should be eager to increase their home tally of 21 goals in 14 games here.

Don’t be surprised if the hosts claim a 2-1 or 3-1 triumph.

Northampton Town V York City

Despite suffering a few problems off the pitch earlier this season, Chris Wilder’s men have enjoyed a fantastic season in League Two and enter this weekend’s schedule sitting top of the pile. That position is largely thanks to their consistency at the Sixfields, where they will be fully expected to grab another win over rock bottom York.

The Cobblers have won 10 of 14 home matches this term, notching 24 goals in total. They’re also unbeaten in four competitive matches here, with the last three including at least three goals. Quite frankly, they should win this clash and it would be very surprising if the likes of Marc Richards and co can’t find at least two goals.

In truth, the hosts could score three by themselves. If they don’t, we can be optimistic about a York goal. The visitors have netted 12 away goals this term, finding the net in three of their last four on the road. Meanwhile, their current predicament means that Jackie McNamara’s men have no choice but to attack.

That could be perfect for this selection.

Southampton V West Ham United. 5:30PM

Saturday’s late Premier League fixture comes from St Mary’s as Southampton and West Ham do battle in what could be a crucial clash in the bid for Europa League football. We’re predicting a ferocious contest between two of the division’s most exciting outfits.

Slaven Bilic’s Hammers have picked up some notable victories on the road this season, scoring an impressive 18 goals in 12 matches in the process. Moreover, they should be confident following Tuesday’s win over Aston Villa and can at least fancy their chances of finding the target.

The visitors have leaked 14 away from the Boleyn, though, and that could give Ronald Koeman’s huge belief. The saints boast 22 goals on home turf while the addition of Charlie Austin should make them an even bigger threat in the attacking third.

We think both teams will score, and at least one should hit at least two.
