Juventus v AC Milan Live – How To Watch & Bet On Italian Super Cup

Two Italian giants head to Doha, Qatar for this year’s Supercoppa and the timing of it makes it the perfect opportunity to get our football fix ahead of the big Christmas weekend.

Will last year’s winners retain the crown or will Milan inflict a second head-to-head defeat of the season?

Whatever happens, it should be an intriguing battle.

Another Trophy Expected For Juve

Massimiliano Allegri’s Bianconeri are already set for a massive season as they close in on what will be a record-breaking sixth straight Serie A crown while they are additionally looking to match Roma’s record of 17 Coppa Italia titles. But they could claim their first piece of silverware by winning this pre-Christmas showdown.

Despite losing their league trip to the San Siro, Juventus will be strongly fancied to win in style here to lift the trophy for a fourth time in five seasons. The Turin giants had also won nine consecutive head-to-head battles prior to October’s away defeat, so they still hold the psychological edge – particularly as that loss had come days after a tough Champions League encounter.

This is a chance for Allegri to employ a little rotation but he’ll still want his team to perform at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium. Attacking options of Gonzalo Higuain, Mario Mandzukic, and Paulo Dybala should give them every opportunity to express themselves.

It’s not the biggest game of their season but they’ll still want to win as silverware is on offer. If they perform to their potential, there’s a very strong chance they will.

Milan To Avenge Coppa Italia Defeat

AC Milan were just 10 minutes away from taking Juve to penalties in the Coppa Italia final before Alvaro Morata broke their hearts. The Rossoneri has improved since last season, however, and can be quietly optimistic about overcoming their opponents again here.

Vincenzo Montella has worked wonders at the San Siro and a first trophy since 2011 would be another step in the right direction. Moreover, it would be another important moment for the emerging talents of Manuel Locatelli and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The underdogs certainly boast enough talent to cause problems for Juve, with Carlos Bacca, Suso, and Mbaye Niang all more than capable on their day. After failing to win their last two games, entering the winter break with a trophy in the bag would be a huge momentum boost heading into 2017 too.

Whatever happens, it should be an interesting affair. Let’s just hope we can win some money too.

Juventus v AC Milan Italian Super Cup Betting

Unsurprisingly, it’s Juventus who enter Friday’s showdown as the odds-on favourites at 7/10 with Unibet. AC Milan, meanwhile, can be backed at 4/1. Alternatively, the draw is available at 13/5.

Had it been a league game, we’d be leaning towards a win-to-nil for Juventus. Under these circumstances, however, we think it will be a little more open – especially as some players will probably have their minds partly cast towards the festivities.

It’s unlikely to be a nine-goal thriller, but there should be chances for both teams to score. Given the quality in the respective attacking units, we’re backing them both to score.

While AC Milan are an improved side, Juve’s quality should shine through. Moreover, Milan’s disrupted travels could play a role too. Therefore, even if the underdogs do score, the favourites should have every chance of winning by a clear margin.

As an outside bet, we’re backing a 3-1 scoreline in favour of the champions.
