They’ve been in the jungle just over 48 hours and groups are beginning to form, but our thoughts turn to the first elimination betting which happens in about a week’s time. Have you spotted an outsider in the camp? Anyone being bullied? Fed up of Matthew Wright’s mincing?
It appears that bookmakers are really struggling to find the weakest competitor at this early stage, even though we already know that the likes of Laila Morse, Matthew Wright and David Emanuel won’t be crowned king/queen of the jungle.
It appears that we are all having fun selecting Joey Essex to do the bush tucker trials. There were reports as early as last week that Mr Essex was subject to plenty of bets on him competing in the most trials during his stay. Up until last Friday bookies were offering no bigger than 6/4 that Joey tallied up the most visits to Ant and Dec’s playground.
So what are the bookies saying at the moment? Joey is understandably seeing the most money placed on him; He’s best priced at 11/10 with Betfred to win the crown. Steve Davis also appears to be attracting some money and is now a best price of 5/1 with Paddy Power to take the honours. The former snooker world champion has been daubed ‘interesting’ for his normally boring personality but seems to be coming out of his shell nicely.
Lucy Pargeter is sure to get up people’s noses and could be a decent shout for first elimination at 8/1 with William Hill.
Miss Universe GB Amy Willerton is 3/1 with Paddy Power to be first eliminated. She’s one of the shows unknowns but does she appeal enough in terms of eye candy to be kept in to give Joey a chance of ‘getting close’?
The week ahead is sure to give us a much clearer picture of the likely ins and outs.. Act now to grab the value prices though if you plan on having a bet!
