Football Accumulator Betting Tips Saturday 2nd January – Potters To Keep Working Magic

It’s 2016, and we’re looking to get the year up and running in style with this tempting Saturday treble that pays out at odds of just under 8/1.

We’re backing these three teams to all start the year with a bang, and have high hopes of getting January off to a winning start. Let’s hope that these clubs will help us do just that.

Good luck, and Happy New Year.

West Bromwich Albion V Stoke City

Mark Hughes’s Stoke City are just finding their form, and have started the post-Christmas run with back-to-back wins over Manchester United and Everton. We’re backing them to complete a perfect hat-trick in this derby at the Hawthorns.

The really pleasing thing for Stoke is that the summer additions of Xerdan Shaqiri and co are starting to find their feet. Meanwhile, Bojan’s return to form and fitness is another huge bonus. Goodison Park aside, the Potters have been pretty solid at the back in recent games too, especially when Ryan Shawcross is present. All in all, it’s the perfect recipe for success.

Conversely, questions still remain over Tony Pulis and West Brom. The Baggies are sitting relatively comfortable in 13th, but they haven’t played the best football this season. A lack of firepower could be a real issue against a strong away defence while we can’t see them keeping a shutout either.

This is a huge game for both sides. Given the recent form, we have to fancy the Potters to prevail.

Burton Albion V Blackpool

A change of manager has done little to disrupt Burton Albion’s charge towards another promotion, and Nigel Clough’s men enter 2016 having claimed 16 points from the last 18 available. They could fire another signal of intent with another home win against Blackpool, and that’s exactly what the Brewers will be expected to do.

The visiting Tangerines have improved under Neil McDonald and will be very optimistic about staving off the threat of relegation. Nevertheless, there is a real gulf in quality between these sides while it’s hard to overlook Blackpool’s terrible away form.

A return of two wins from 12 on the road is far from inspired. Meanwhile, Burton’s record of eight wins at the Pirelli will give the home side confidence. If they can unleash Abde El Khayati in the final third, there’s no reason to think the hosts won’t score the goals needed to win.

It might not be quite as easy as the table suggests. But we do think the home side should claim the spoils.

Northampton Town V Barnet

In League Two, high-flying Northampton have performed excellently in recent weeks and are now in a great position as they look to overcome off-field issues with promotion. Quite frankly, they should be expecting to pick up another three points as they take on a poorly travelled Barnet.

The Cobblers are in a good run of form, having won four of their past five league encounters. Moreover, Chris Wilder’s men have won two-thirds of their matches at Sixfields while top scorer Marc Richards should seriously fancy his chances of goals too.

Barnet have played well at home, but it’s a completely different matter on the road. In total, they’ve picked up just one win on the road whilst conceding 28 times in the process. Meanwhile, the manner of their Monday defeat at Cambridge is another major cause for concern and could make it hard for Martin Allen to motivate his side.

Stranger things have happened in League Two. But the stats suggest a home win, and that’s exactly where we’re putting our money.
