Football Accumulator Betting Tips Saturday 14th October – Blades To Cut Southend To Pieces

Unfortunately, the international schedule means there are no Premier League or Championship matches this weekend. However, that won’t stop us from trying to land a 6/1 Saturday treble.

We’ve taken one selection from League One, League Two and the Conference National, and high hopes of sealing the weekend with a win. Fingers crossed that these clubs will all do the business.

Sheffield United V Southend United

At Bramall Lane, it’s the battle of two SUFCs as Sheffield United take on Southend United. Both teams will be looking for what could be a very important win, but we’re backing the home side to prevail on this occasion.

The visitors are struggling with several injuries right now. Meanwhile, manager Phil Brown was furious at his side’s FA Cup performance at Scunthorpe last weekend. A JPT win over Bristol Rovers will have rebuilt some confidence, but a repeat showing of last weekend would hand the initiative to the Blades, and they are more than capable of making it count.

Nigel Adkins’s side will have been disappointed by their midweek penalty loss at Fleetwood, but they were pretty dominant in last weekend’s cup win over Worcester. The trio of Jose Baxter, Billy Sharp and Conor Sammon are amongst the best in League One, and that quality could help the Blades reignite their early bid to put themselves in and amongst the play-offs.

It’s certainly not the easiest game for Sheffield United. Nonetheless, we do fancy a home win.

Luton Town V Barnet

John Still’s Hatters have won back-to-back away fixtures at Dagenham and Crawley over the past couple of weeks and the League Two side will be hoping to bring that form back to Kenilworth Road this weekend. In truth, facing Barnet is the perfect opportunity for them to do just that.

Visiting Barnet are enjoying their best form of the season, but Martin Allen’s side have largely been awful on their travels. In fact, the Bees have won just one game away from the Hive since returning to League Two, and we cannot see them doubling it here.

The likes of John Akinde and Michale Gash might be scoring goals, but it’s hard to overlook Barnet’s defensive frailties. The visitors have leaked 18 goals in just eight league outings on the road. If Luton bring their shooting boots, they’ll certainly be fancied to win.

Barnet’s improved form has to end sooner or later. We’re quietly confident that it will be this weekend.

Southport V Cheltenham

In the Conference, high-flying Cheltenham were brilliant on Tuesday as they smashed five goals past Guiseley. Quite frankly, struggling Southport must be extremely worried as they prepare to welcome the Robins to Haig Avenue.

Gary Johnson’s visitors are unbeaten in seven league matches and are well on target to bounce back to the Football League at the first attempt. The firepower of Danny Wright and Amari Morgan-Smith should see the Robins score, and their defensive players will be equally confident about keeping out the hosts.

Southport have improved a little in recent weeks, but they remain in the relegation zone and look unlikely to escape it this weekend. Paul Carden’s men have only won one game on home turf in the league, and the gulf in quality should shine through.

Cheltenham have really started to hit top gear in recent weeks. Expect them to fire another warning shot to their title rivals here.
