Third placed Fenerbahce will be counting on beating Kayserispor on Saturday evening as the race for the Turkish Super League title is really hotting up. A few silly points dropped has seen Galatasaray top the table, and Besiktas’ win yesterday saw them jump to 2nd position.
Fenerbahce have recovered well from a couple of disappointing results towards the end of last year, and will be expecting to beat Kayserispor and return to 2nd position in the league.
Being the only team remaining unbeaten at home in the league, Kayserispor face a stiff task at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium.
Sitting in 10th position, Kayserispor will have to drastically improve their away efforts which has seen them lose 6 of their 9 games, with just 6 goals scored.
Fenerbahce have conceded just 6 goals at home this season, and on paper this game looks a mismatch. Boss Aykut Kocaman knows the importance of keeping tabs at the top of the table and will see this game as a chance to show Galatasaray that Fenerbahce are still well in the hunt for glory.
Kayserispor were shock 4-1 winners of this fixture back in 2008, but all known form suggests that Fenerbahce should be able to collect the points here with the minimum of fuss.
