This encounter brings Derby County and Crystal Palace together to lock horns and battle it out for progression in the FA Cup. Crystal Palace have been unable to win a single game on their travels in the league so far this season, they’ve also had difficulty scoring away from Selhurst Park; averaging just one goal per game in the thirteen played to date.
These two teams currently sit very close to one another in the league table, Derby are just two places above the eagles with only a point separating them.
Derby have been in the better form of late having only lost one of their last five whereas Crystal Palace has lost 2 of their last three games.
These two teams met in early December at Selhurst Park, neither team able to claim all three points with the final score ending 1-1.
The Rams go into the game full of confidence after a string of good results; they will be aware of Palace’s awful away record this season but cannot be complacent as cup competitions are very unpredictable.
If Derby play to their full potential they have the quality to punish Crystal Palace and see themselves in the draw for the next round, I suspect home advantage to be the contributing factor.
