Both Teams to Score Treble for Saturday 23rd of April – Head to Sincil Bank If You’re Looking For Goals

With the end of the football season coming at us like a Virgin pendolino, we need to make the most of the remaining fixtures and I’ve been scouring England and Scotland to find a little Goals Galore treble that will boost those balances before the Euro’s!

Fulham v Notts Forest

Fulham have pretty much been one of those sides you can just back blindly when it comes to scoring and conceding this season and yet again they look the pick of the bunch from the Championship as they welcome Notts Forest to Craven Cottage.

Both sides sit 9 points clear of the relegation zone with only 3 games remaining, so it’s very unlikely that either will face the drop this term. And so with a bit of freedom I’m expecting a few goals this weekend.

It’s been over 2 months since Fulham last kept a clean sheet in the league in a 3-0 win here over Charlton. Since then they’ve conceded in 11 consecutive games, scoring in 9 of those which backs up my previous comment about simply just backing them blindly.

As for Forest, well they’ve been in dire form as of late with no win in 8 games and just 1 clean sheet in that run. Away from home they have hardly been full of goals this season but they should find the net against a Fulham side who simply can’t keep the ball out of the net.

When the two last met here at Craven Cottage it was a 3-2 thriller and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar result this weekend with only pride at stake.

Mansfield v Barnet

A bit of an unorthodox choice here as these are two sides I very rarely back for Goals Galore, but given the recent form and again given that neither side has anything to play for, I’m hoping that a bit of freedom can spell goals.

Mansfield have been in fine goalscoring form as of late with 3 wins on the bounce and 10 goals across those 3 games. Their last game here at home resulted in a 5-0 win over Notts County but 7 of their last 10 home games have resulted in both teams finding the net which bodes well for us.

Barnet also come into this game in good form with only 1 loss in their last 5 and away from home it’s only 1 loss in their last 7. They’ve scored in 6 and conceded in 6 of their last 7 games with their last 4 in a row all resulting in both teams finding the net.

Although this may be a bit of a strange choice like I mentioned before, this fixture actually has a pretty decent record of goals. Their previous meeting this season resulted in a 1-3 win for Mansfield and that was the 5th consecutive meeting which resulted in both teams finding the net, going back to 2006. All in all I think it looks a solid addition to the treble.

Lincoln v Woking

My final selection comes from the National League and yet again involves two sides who have very little to play for but can usually produce a fair amount of goals.

Both sides come into this game in pretty shocking form with both having collected only 1 win from their last 8 league games. But we’re not too fussed about form, we’re all about goals, and both sides have also seen 7 of their last 8 games result in both teams finding the net.

Lincoln have been solid on the goals front here at Sincil Bank this season, scoring in 19 of their 22 home league games and in the last 7 of those in a row. Woking on the other hand are yet to keep a single clean sheet on their travels in 2016. But they have also been pretty convincing in front of goal, in fact, the only time they have failed to score away from home in 2016 was against the Champions Cheltenham!

When the two met at the Kingfield Stadium back in December it resulted in a 3-1 win for Woking. Both sides have the freedom and the talent to produce a few goals here this weekend, but neither are capable of keeping a clean sheet either so this looks the pick of the bunch for me.
