Both Teams To Score Saturday 2nd May – Back Goals At Ewood Park

It’s the final day of Football League action and we’re concentrating on that action for this weekend’s 5/1 BTTS treble at Betfred.

We’re backing these six teams to all end the regular season with a goal and are hopeful that they can get the final month of the season off to a flyer.

Fingers crossed for an eventful last day.

Blackburn Rovers V Ipswich Town (12:15PM)

[quote_right]Bet just £10 and get £30 free when you open your Betfred account – Get started right here[/quote_right]Goals have been a common theme for Championship rivals Blackburn and Ipswich throughout 2014/15 and we’re expecting them to bring the curtain down on the campaign with a fittingly entertaining final day showdown.

Between them, the two clubs have posted 133 goals from 90 matches whilst additionally shipping 108. Moreover, October’s 1-1 draw at Portman Road suggests that Saturday’s contest should be an interesting game packed with chances at both ends.

Mick McCarthy’s Tractor Boys will be in good spirits as they look to build momentum ahead of the play-offs and an attack spearheaded by Daryl Murphy, the Championship’s top-scorer, will fancy its chances against the leaky Rovers backline.

However, Blackburn’s deadly duo of Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede should cause problems for the visitors, especially at Ewood Park. We’re backing both teams to score.

Charlton Athletic V Bournemouth (12:15PM)

Eddie Howe’s Cherries are set for the sweetest of parties at the Valley as promotion to the Premier League will be confirmed and we’d expect them to get amongst the goals once more. However, the celebrations could leave them a little vulnerable in defence, which is why we’re backing the Addicks to join them on the scoresheet.

Charlton have scored 32 times in 22 games at the Valley and will be eager to bring some final day cheer to their supporters. On the other hand, Premier League-bound Bournemouth have netted a Championship best 47 on the road and will be equally, if not more so, confident about finding the target.

Callum Wilson, Yann Kermogrant and co should have more than enough firepower to kick the away stand party into overdrive but the Cherries probably won’t be too bothered about conceding, which should give Charlton’s Igor Vetokele and Johann Gudnmundsson an even greater chance of ending their season’s on a personal high.

Charlton’s last five matches at the Valley have ended in BTTS winners. Back their campaign to end in similar fashion.

Carlisle United V Hartlepool United

Just a few weeks ago, this looked like being a huge relegation battle at the foot of League Two. However, improved results for both Carlisle and Hartlepool means that both teams will be celebrating survival throughout this final day clash at Brunton Park. We’re hoping that carnival atmosphere should lead to plenty of goalmouth action.

Goals certainly haven’t been a problem for Kieth Curle’s Cumbrians, who boast 53 from 45 league outings this term and should fancy their chances against a Pools defence that has shipped 37 on the road – especially as 32 of the home side’s goals have come at Brunton Park. However, the hosts need to be careful against a resurgent away side who will be hoping to follow up last weekend’s impressive win over Exeter with another three points on the final day.

Ronnie Moore’s visitors have been far from sparkling this term, but they pulled results out of the bag at just the right time and the likes of Marlon Harewood, Brad Walker and Scott Fenwick have all enjoyed magical moments over the past couple of months. Perhaps they can send the Pool supporters into raptures one last time in 2014/15.

The result isn’t that important but both teams would love to end the season on a high. The pressure is off; back goals at Brunton Park.
