Bologna V Juventus
Friday 19th February. 7:45PM. Live Streaming available at Bet365
The highlight of Friday night’s football schedule comes from the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara as Bologna take on Juventus.
After leapfrogging Napoli into pole position last weekend, the champions will be eager to pile the pressure on the chasing pack by extending their lead on Friday night. However, the leaders might not have things all their own way against a spirited home side.
Whatever happens, it should be a thrilling encounter.
Can Bologna Capitalise On Distracted Champions?
Roberto Donadoni’s side might not be the strongest team in Italy, but they certainly aren’t a bad side and will be hoping to give their bid for a top half finish a serious boost by upsetting the champions.
With Juventus having one eye cast towards next week’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, Bologna couldn’t have asked for a better time to face the champions. That’s not to say it’ll be easy for the Rossoblu, but they have to be confident.
After all, their unbeaten in three on home soil and can also take confidence from last week’s away win at Udinese. If they can get the ball to star man Mattia Destro, they’ll have to half a chance of success.
The odds are against them, but they shouldn’t be ruled out completely. At the very least, we should expect a spirited performance form the hosts.
Juventus To Keep Run Going?
Massimiliano Allegri’s men started their title defence in awful circumstances, but the Bianconeri are now on a run of 15 straight wins, with the most recent victory coming via that dramatic late win against Napoli. Now they’re back on top, Juventus won’t want to slip up here, and have more than enough quality to prevail at Bologna.
The champions might rotate slightly ahead of Bayern’s visit, but we would expect to see a strong side here as they look to build confidence before that European task. With the likes of Paul Pogba, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala amongst their arsenal, they shouldn’t struggle for goals.
In the defensive third, Juventus are now seven games without conceding all competitions, which is another huge sense of confidence ahead of this match, as is their 3-1 win from the reverse clash in Turin.
The impetus is clearly with the visitors, but their midweek fixture could throw a spanner into the works. Whatever happens, it should be a thrilling spectacle and you can watch the action live with Bet365.
Bologna V Juventus Betting
The league leaders might have one eye on Tuesday, but they still enter this clash as the odds-on favourites at 8/13. Meanwhile, the hosts can be backed at 5/1 and the draw is priced 13/5.
In truth, the visitors are in great confidence and should be too strong for their opponents, which is why we think they will get the win. Nevertheless, Allegri’s men shouldn’t expect things all their own way.
It wouldn’t be overly surprising if the hosts score too. If they don’t Juvenuts could always score three, which is why we’re backing this first selection.
